DoT releases notice inviting application for auctions starting February 25, 2015
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has released its notice inviting application (NIA) for the upcoming spectrum auctions to be held on February 25, 2015.
According to the NIA, the government will sell 380.75 MHz of 2G spectrum in three bands - the 900 MHz, 1800 MHz and 800 MHz band. The reserve price of pan-India airwave in 800 MHz band is Rs 36.46 billion per MHz, for 900 MHz band, Rs 39.80 billion per MHz for 900 MHz band (pan-India excluding Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and J&K); and Rs 21.91 billion per MHz across India (excluding Maharashtra and West Bengal) in 1800 MHz band. The details of 2100 MHz band is likely to be announced later.
The validity of spectrum in this auction will be 20 years. The auction format is simultaneous, multiple-round ascending auction. The last date for submitting applications will be February 6, 2015 with the last date of withdrawal being February 18, 2015. Further, the final list of bidders will be published on February 20, 2015.
